US Virgin Islands: season by season
High & dry season. Mid-December through April is peak season: sunny, warm, low humidity and calm seas for sailing and snorkeling. It’s the busiest and priciest stretch, especially over the holidays and the cruise-heavy winter weeks.
Hurricane & low season. August through November is hurricane season (Irma and Maria struck hard in 2017), with September-October the wettest and cheapest. Flexible travelers with insurance can find real deals.
Shoulder season (best value). Late April through June stays warm and mostly dry with lighter crowds – a strong-value window before the wet season sets in.
