St. Lucia: season by season
High & dry season. December through April is the dry, sunny high season, ideal for the beaches, boat trips and Piton hikes that make St. Lucia famous. It’s also the most romantic – and most expensive – time to visit, with honeymooners filling the resorts. Book early for Valentine’s and the winter holidays.
Hurricane & low season. August through October is the wettest and the peak of hurricane season, with frequent afternoon downpours and high humidity. Prices drop to their lowest, and the rainforest is at its most dramatic, but pack for showers and travel with insurance.
Shoulder season (best value). May and June are a smart compromise – warm, only occasionally showery, and quieter, with the world-class St. Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival lighting up May.
