General guidance from typical seasonal averages – always check a live forecast before you book. Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30 (peak August-October); a storm in season is the exception, not the rule, and travel insurance is smart in those months.
Antigua: season by season
High & dry season. January through April is the driest, sunniest, calmest stretch, ideal for the island’s beaches and boat trips. It’s the high season, so expect peak prices and busy resorts.
Hurricane & low season. August through October is the peak of hurricane season and the wettest time, with October the rainiest. It’s also the cheapest – good for flexible travelers with insurance.
Shoulder season (best value). May-June and November stay warm and mostly dry with lighter crowds and softer rates.
What else to know
Antigua Sailing Week (late April into early May) is one of the world’s great regattas; Carnival peaks from late July into early August; and Nelson’s Dockyard is a UNESCO World Heritage site worth a day. Water sits around 79-84°F.
