Like its ABC-island neighbor Aruba, Curaçao sits below the hurricane belt – dry, sunny and safe from storms nearly all year – paired with a colorful Dutch capital and some of the Caribbean’s best shore diving.
General guidance from typical seasonal averages – always check a live forecast before you book. Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30 (peak August-October); a storm in season is the exception, not the rule, and travel insurance is smart in those months.
Curaçao: season by season
High & dry season. There’s honestly no bad time to visit. December through April is the drier, slightly cooler high season and the busiest – sunshine is close to guaranteed and rates run highest.
Hurricane & low season. The October-December ‘rainy’ season is mild by Caribbean standards – brief showers, little storm worry – and prices dip, making it strong value.
Shoulder season (best value). May through September is hot but dry and breezy, with lower rates than the winter peak and quiet beaches.

Curaçao’s Carnival runs January into February and is one of the longest in the region; the North Sea Jazz Festival lands in late summer; and Willemstad’s pastel waterfront is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Water holds 80-84°F year-round.
When to go, by trip type
Best for storm-free sun at any time; divers and value-seekers do great in the quieter months; Carnival lovers should aim for January-February.
