Virgin Voyages just dropped its 2026 Caribbean season for Brilliant Lady, the newest ship in the fleet, and the itinerary list reads like a greatest-hits tour of the Caribbean: Ocho Rios, Aruba, Curaçao, Bonaire, Cartagena, Antigua, Grand Cayman. It’s the first time a Virgin Voyages ship has ever called at Jamaica, and it’s the cruise I’m recommending to almost every Sandals couple who’s asked me about adding a cruise to their Caribbean travel mix.
Here’s why Brilliant Lady deserves a serious look — especially if you’re a Sandals or Beaches resort fan and you’ve been on the fence about cruising.
Brilliant Lady at a Glance
- Cruise line: Virgin Voyages (adults-only, 18+)
- Ship class: Same as Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady, Resilient Lady — refined
- 2026 Caribbean homeport: San Juan, Puerto Rico (longer Southern Caribbean itineraries)
- Headline ports: Ocho Rios (Jamaica), Aruba, Curaçao, Bonaire, Cartagena (Colombia), Antigua, Grand Cayman
- Onboard vibe: Adults-only, more boutique-hotel-at-sea than mega-ship — closer to a Sandals resort than a Royal Caribbean megaship
- Included in fare: All restaurants (no specialty up-charges), Wi-Fi, gratuities, fitness classes, group exercise, basic drinks
Why Brilliant Lady Is the Sandals-Lover’s Cruise Pick
I’ve personally visited every Sandals and Beaches resort in the Caribbean, and the thing Sandals does best is the adults-only, all-inclusive, no-kids, no-fee-surprises feel. Virgin Voyages is the closest cruise equivalent on the market — and Brilliant Lady’s Caribbean itinerary makes it almost a “Sandals cruise” by accident.
- Adults only. No kids’ clubs, no waterslides, no character meet-and-greets. The whole ship is designed for couples and adult friend groups — same target customer as Sandals.
- Inclusive pricing. Like Sandals, your cruise fare covers all dining (including high-end restaurants), Wi-Fi, and gratuities. There’s no daily resort fee or surprise specialty restaurant cover charge.
- Caribbean island stops, not theme parks. Brilliant Lady’s ports are real Caribbean destinations — Ocho Rios, Aruba, Curaçao — places you’d actually choose for a beach vacation. Not the “private island” loop most cruise lines use as a substitute.
- The Beach Club at Bimini. If you book a Brilliant Lady or Scarlet Lady sailing that calls there, Virgin’s private 4.5-acre beachfront in the Bahamas is more upscale-Sandals than typical-cruise-line-private-island.
2026 Caribbean Itineraries Worth Looking At
Brilliant Lady runs a few different itineraries out of San Juan. The most interesting ones for Caribbean fans:
- “Beats & Beaches” Southern Caribbean — calls at Aruba, Curaçao, Bonaire (the ABC islands), plus a sea day. This is the itinerary I’d pick if you want classic Southern Caribbean island-hopping with a Caribbean-cruise-veteran’s port lineup.
- Cartagena, Aruba & Curaçao — adds Cartagena, Colombia, which is a stunning UNESCO old-city port that almost no other cruise line includes outside of Panama Canal sailings. Pair this with Aruba and Curaçao and it’s hard to beat for cultural mix.
- Jamaica + Cayman + Eastern Caribbean — the Ocho Rios calls. If you’ve stayed at Sandals Ochi, Sandals Royal Caribbean, or Sandals Negril, Ocho Rios is the same Jamaica home base — but you arrive by ship and add Antigua, Grand Cayman, or other Eastern Caribbean stops.
Current Promotions Worth Stacking
Virgin Voyages is running an unusually generous promo stack on 2026 Caribbean sailings right now:
- Spring Savings (through May 28, 2026): Up to $1,000 off Mega RockStar suites, $500 off RockStar suites, $200 off Sea Terrace cabins, $100 off Sea View or Insider cabins on voyages 10 nights or longer.
- 70% off the second sailor on most 2026 voyages (this is the cruise-line equivalent of Sandals’ “save 65% on a luxury included vacation” headline offer).
- Up to $200 onboard credit on select Caribbean sailings — usable for shore excursions, drinks, or spa.
Most of these promos can be combined. The Spring Savings deadline of May 28 is the binding date — book before that to capture the savings on a 2026 Brilliant Lady Caribbean sailing.
A “Stay at Sandals + Cruise on Brilliant Lady” Bundle
One of the things I’m starting to recommend to repeat Sandals guests: pre-cruise stay or post-cruise stay at a Sandals or Beaches resort, paired with a Brilliant Lady cruise from San Juan. A few combinations that work especially well:
- Sandals Royal Bahamian + Bahamas-leaning Brilliant Lady itinerary — Nassau is an easy connector flight from anywhere in the U.S.
- Sandals Saint Vincent (newest resort) + Southern Caribbean Brilliant Lady — fly into Barbados or San Juan, hit the new SSV resort, then ship out to the ABC islands.
- Beaches Turks & Caicos for the kids + Brilliant Lady adults-only cruise without them — yes, really. Some couples do a family week at Beaches with grandparents minding the kids, then peel off for an adults-only cruise.
Pixie Vacations can quote and book all of those combinations as a single trip — flights, transfers, resort, cruise, and post-cruise.
