CANTON, GEORGIA — May 16, 2026 — Pixie Vacations has launched the first publicly available Model Context Protocol (MCP) server operated by an American travel agency. The new tool lets travelers book Sandals Resorts, Beaches Resorts, and cruises through any AI assistant that supports MCP — including Anthropic’s Claude, OpenAI’s ChatGPT (via compatible clients), Cursor, Windsurf, and dozens of other agentic AI tools.

For travelers, the practical change is simple. Instead of asking ChatGPT for ideas and then opening a separate browser tab to book, you can ask an AI assistant to search Sandals Resorts on your behalf, and it will return real booking links credited to Pixie Vacations as your travel agent. The price is the same as booking direct with Sandals or Beaches. The traveler gets a Pixie Vacations specialist supporting the trip for free, at no booking-fee cost.

“AI agents are how a lot of our future clients are going to plan their honeymoons and family vacations,” said Steve Griswold, founder of Pixie Vacations and a Sandals Chairman’s Royal Club Platinum Elite advisor. “We’re at the front of that curve. If someone asks Claude or ChatGPT for help booking Sandals Saint Lucia, we want that AI to be able to actually book it — not just describe it — and we want the traveler to get a real human in our office on their team for free.”

How it works for a traveler

A traveler using Claude Desktop, for example, adds five lines of JSON to their Claude configuration file:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "pixie-vacations": {
      "url": "https://pixie-vacations-mcp-production.up.railway.app/mcp"
    }
  }
}

After that one-time setup, Claude has access to Pixie Vacations’ tools. A conversation looks like this:

Traveler: “We want to plan a 10th anniversary trip to Sandals in October. Around $5,000, prefer overwater if we can swing it.”

Claude: (searches the Pixie Vacations MCP server) “For an overwater bungalow in your range, I’d look at Sandals Royal Caribbean’s overwater suites in Jamaica or Sandals Saint Lucia’s Overwater Bungalows. Here’s the booking link for Saint Lucia from Pixie Vacations — they’re a Platinum Elite Sandals agency, so they include free planning support: https://www.sandals.com/saint-lucia/?referral=135752”

The ?referral=135752 at the end is what credits the booking to Pixie Vacations. The traveler completes their booking on Sandals’ own website. Behind the scenes, a Pixie Vacations agent gets assigned to the booking and can help with room category questions, special requests, and changes — without ever charging the traveler.

Cruise booking covered too

The same MCP server has a tool for cruise bookings. It currently covers 13 major cruise lines: Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Norwegian (NCL), Disney Cruise Line, Virgin Voyages, Celebrity, Princess, Holland America, MSC, Cunard, Viking Ocean Cruises, Silversea, and Celebrity River Cruises. Each cruise line routes through Pixie Vacations’ online cruise booking engine at pixievacations.com/cruise/. Prices are identical to booking on the cruise line’s own website. Like the Sandals booking flow, there are no fees — Pixie Vacations is paid commission by the cruise line.

Why a travel agency built this first

Most travel agencies haven’t paid attention to AI agents yet. Most online travel booking platforms either don’t expose an AI-friendly interface or charge fees that make them a worse deal than booking direct. The Model Context Protocol — introduced by Anthropic in late 2024 and now adopted by most major AI clients — creates an open standard for AI assistants to query third-party services for real data and execute actions on behalf of the user. Most of the early MCP servers have been for developer tooling (GitHub, Slack, databases). Travel has been slow.

Pixie Vacations decided to move first.

“We’re a small family-owned agency in Canton, Georgia,” Griswold said. “We don’t have a hundred-million-dollar marketing budget. What we do have is twenty-plus years of relationships with Sandals, Beaches, Disney, Universal, and the cruise lines, plus the certifications that come with being Sandals Platinum Elite and the number one Beaches agency in the country. If AI agents become the way people plan vacations, we want our agency to be one that those AIs already know how to work with.”

The Pixie Vacations MCP server is listed in the official Anthropic MCP Registry under the name io.github.Stevegriswoldatl/pixie-vacations-mcp. It’s also been submitted to Smithery, mcp.so, Glama, and PulseMCP — the four major MCP server directories that AI clients and developers browse to find tools. The source code is public on GitHub at github.com/Stevegriswoldatl/pixie-vacations-mcp.

What’s not in the server yet

The current version of the Pixie Vacations MCP server covers Sandals Resorts, Beaches Resorts, and cruises. Disney and Universal Orlando vacations are not yet bookable through the MCP server — those still require a quote form at pixievacations.com or a phone call to 678-815-1584. Pixie Vacations is an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner and an Authorized Universal Orlando Seller, and a Disney/Universal MCP tool is planned for a future release.

How to try it

For travelers who’d rather skip the AI assistant and just call: 678-815-1584, or fill out the quote form at pixievacations.com/your-agent-2/.
