Here are free printable cruise duck tags you can print at home on plain 8.5 x 11 paper: eight tropical tags per sheet, your ship name and sail date already filled in, and a QR code on the front so whoever finds your duck can log the find. No PDF to download, no editing in Canva. Type your ship and date, hit print, cut along the lines.

How to print your cruise duck tags
- Open the tag printer in any browser, or in the Pixie Pals app tap Hide, then Print tags for your ducks.
- Type your ship and sail date. They print on every tag so finders know which sailing the duck came from.
- Print page 1 (fronts). Print page 2 on the back if you want double-sided tags; it is optional.
- Cut along the dotted lines. Each tag is about 2.5 x 1.5 inches, the size that fits a two-inch duck.
- Hole-punch the corner and tie on with thin ribbon, elastic cord or a small rubber band. Clear packing tape over the tag keeps it from curling on humid pool decks.
Card stock looks nicest, but regular copier paper works fine. A normal home inkjet prints the sheet in under a minute.
What’s on the tag
- Front: “You found a duck! Cruise Duck Hunt,” a note to keep it or hide it again, your ship and sail date, and a QR code.
- Back (optional): a bigger QR code and “scan to log your find in the free Pixie Pals app.”
- What’s not on it: your name, your business, your phone number. Cruise lines treat advertising on ducks as solicitation, and a plain, friendly tag keeps the game welcome on board.
Why a QR code on a duck tag?
Because it is the only way to know your ducks were found. The finder scans the tag, lands in the free Pixie Pals cruise ducks app (or the web version, no install needed), taps Found it!, and your duck shows up as found on your phone. Finders climb the sailing’s leaderboard, hiders compete on a weekly all-ships board, and the top hider wins a prize. If you log your ducks in the app before you hide them (deck, section, a hint), hunters can also find them without ever seeing the tag.
Cruise duck tag ideas
- Name each duck on the hint line in the app. “Sir Quacks-a-Lot, Deck 12 near the slide” gets found fast.
- Print one sheet per family member so the kids can hand out “their” ducks.
- Laminating pouches from the dollar store make the tags survive a whole week outside.
- Bring a few blank tags for ducks you find and re-hide.
Editable cruise duck tags without Canva
People search for editable cruise duck tags because most free templates need an account and a design tool. This one only needs your ship and date typed into two boxes. If you want a tag with a different look, the classic design is on the same page; both print eight per sheet.
